Fury of Dracula PBF - Game 1

Dracula has moved!

Dracula moves by sea once again, taking 1 damage.

Dawn

If there are no events…

Week 2, Fri - Day

Lord Godalming (@Whistle_Pig) is up.

A second day on the water? Where the devil can the devil be?

The only thing I can think of, given that we know he’s been causing trouble in the Balkans, is that he’s fled to the Black Sea or the Ionian Sea and is now trying to get somewhere with better landfalls. What that means for our movements I don’t know.

(The other possibility is that he’s in the Atlantic and headed for Britain bur even with two Wolf Escapes I don’t see how he’d manage that.)

Well, bearing in mind where he could have taken to sea from, there are still many possibilities so it’s probably best to work that out first.

I.e., Godalming to check Sofia or Valona - or maybe Mina can check Sofia by train - and Van Helsing to check Marsellies or Genoa (or possibily Venice but strange that he didn’t depart from there the turn before).

Dr Seward will sack the day off and be ready tonight.

Venice doesn’t really get me away from any of you lovely people does it?

We welcome the opportunity for a group hug later in the game. Or sooner. I’ll keep my pointy stick sharp.

I’ll travel by road to Valona

Valona is revealed as the fourth space of the trail!

Would Dracula (@RossM) like to ambush with the encounter card?

Why the devil not?

Let’s ambush!

Valona becomes surrounded with Unnatural Fog!

Place a fog token on this city. If it is a port, place a second fog token there. Hunters cannot move into or out of a city that has a fog token.

If it is day, each hunter on this city becomes delayed.

Alas, brave Lord Godalming is stranded in Valona, lost in the fog for the foreseeable future, as per the rules: A hunter cannot move into or out of a city that has a fog token.

Meanwhile, will the real Dr. Seward please stand up. Please stand up, etc.

Van Helsing (@MichaelCule), you are up!

Curse you, Count! (Great place for a fog, though.) Must be some way of it clearing though. Hmmm.

Your thoughts, Van Helsing: hug the coast in case Dracula makes for land?

Mina: can you get to Athens in four moves, without going through Valona?

Without going into vampire-warning levels of detail, yes, I think so.

Okay - I can get there in three turns going via Salonica too in case that is where he set sail.

Do you want to check them out or shall I?

I’m wondering whether one of us should head for the Black Sea. I can get to Varna reasonably promptly.

Sure. Talking this through, if Valona was the fourth step, then the third was Athens or Salonica - a great spot for a vampire behind protected by the fog - making the second the Ionian Sea, and the first either the Black Sea or the Tyrrhenian Sea or possibly the Adriatic Sea.

I can definitely get to Salonica/Athens before that location matures - so up to you.

You’re constantly giving me more credit than I deserve in this game, there’s no strategy.

I’m basically just mimbling around posting village people videos.

Just want to make sure everyone is aware that sea locations on the trail do not get revealed if Hunters move into them, not will Dracula be revealed if he is in the same location. The sea is vast and leaves no traces.

Understood.

(But at least you don’t end up all at sea without a clue, as you easily can in Eldritch Horror.)

I’ll head down to the Tyrhennean coast in case he went that way.

How do we get rid of fog?
