Punch does not cancel Fangs.
Reckless Vampire gains 1 HP (would be 2, but he’s only missing 1).
Because it is Night, and Mina is Mesmerized, she does not receive damage, but is bitten and removed from the combat, as per the Fangs card. As Mina has a permanent bite mark, this is enough to Defeat her.
Mina is removed from the board. At the next dawn, she will be placed in the nearest hospital (Budapest), be healed to full, and have to discard her items and events (but not train tickets).
Meanwhile, Dracula gains 2 influence for defeating a hunter (2 + number of Despair tokens), plus 1 for the Fangs card. Reckless Vampire remains in Valona.
Hospitals can only be entered by a defeated Hunter at the next dawn.
They are considered adjacent to the cities they are attached to (Budapest, Rome, Madrid), so a Hunter in a hospital cannot Trade with someone in the city, or participate in combat, etc. The Hunter would also not reveal if that city was on the Trail at this time.
Hunters in a Hospital can either move to the adjacent city or do a special Supply action, which gains them 1 item card.
We know he moved two spaces in Wolf Form leaving Valona.
We haven’t found his trace in Zagreb or Sarjevo.
Which sort of argues that he’s gone to the shores of the Black Sea and circled around Castle Dracula.
I would suggest that Dr Seward (is it?) heads to Sezged or Klausenberg. If he finds the trail I’ll move towards him, if not I’ll head north to Zurich since no-one has gone there…
But I can’t see any way he could have got that far West without our running across the trail by now…
There’s a chance he is now heading through Zagreb or Sarajevo, after I have just left it.
I think there is a greater chance that he is where you propose, either along the Black Sea coast or around Castle Dracula.
I’ll think on it a bit, but (spoilers!) I have the Chartered Carriage event card, so I can get by train to Constanta, Varna, Salonica or Galatz this turn - or Belgrade, Bucharest or Sofia - if we think he is that far east, or we want to try and limit him running further east, or push him to sea.
If a combo of Godalming and Van Helsing can close the net a little at the west - bearing in mind there are a few choke points from Prague and Munich south east, then we’ll see if we can turn the tide in week 2.
