For future reference, you could have rolled “d4+4” to get the number into the right quadrant. (Similarly “d3+3” in the bottom half of the map.) But (2, 3) landed on (2, 7), which would do nothing; the d8: 1 is a 5, so you’re on (2, 5), which also does nothing. Since things won’t get any worse with a reroll, I’ll reroll the d6; if it’s a 3, that’s great, but 1-2 do nothing.

Quick question as I’m having a brain freeze - do you need to be on a square to reveal PoI or can you spend an action adjacent to them to reveal? I’ve a feeling I need to be on the square but wanted to double check.
You need to be in the same square, but there is no action cost.
(The Rescue Dog has a special Reveal action which can do this in an adjacent space, still for 0AP.)

Further question - for my veteran special ability, is it active -as soon- as they enter my radius, or do they have to start their turn in it? I’m guessing start turn, otherwise you could lose a point if you move outside it? But not sure.
Regardless, I’ll reassure the victim as I extinguish both adjacent smoke and save an AP. Sorry not close enough for @RossM but I’d better not leave the victim here.

If another firefighter spends any part of their turn within your Zone of Awesomeness they get the 1AP benefit. (This is why I think the whole “this AP can’t be saved” thing is a bit silly: most of the time, as long as you take one more action after entering the zone, you can spend that AP on it and save one of your regular ones that you would have used instead.)
So you’ve moved 2, extinguished 2, and retain the 1 saved AP.
