Firefly PBF game 1

OK, loaded 3 cargo.

Turn 7.3 Murphy and Yun Qi @COMaestro

First up: Full burn to Sihnon.

By what route?

I’m asking because you could go 1 Border + 3 Alliance, or 2 Border + 2 Alliance; Border is generally more dangerous, but Alliance has a higher chance of getting your fugitive seized.

I am not seeing any way I can do only 2 Alliance moves. They all appear to be 1 Border and 3 Alliance, or 2 Border and 3 Alliance.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Helps if I don’t confuse Gonghe and Sihnon really.

Right then! Full burn, one fuel used.

(Border Space)

  1. The Big Black [Keep Flying!]

(Alliance Space)
2. Alliance Cruiser [Can’t Run. They’re Pullin’ Us In!: See card.] REFRESH BOUNTIES AND ALERTS AND RESHUFFLE DECK

So the effects of this are:
(on you)

  • You have no ship Warrants, so you don’t get to pay to have them removed.
  • Your Fugitive is gone. The Job stays active taking up one of your three Job slots; if you can find another Fugitive somewhere else, and deliver them, all will be well.
  • The Bandit, being Wanted, will be arrested on a 1: d6: 5

The Bandit is fine.

The effects on the rest of the game are that the Alliance Space nav deck is reshuffled, and we get three new Bounties, replacing the old ones:

Wanted: River Tam [Immoral Bounty to Command Cruiser (Apprehend/Kill 2, Botch)] [$4000] {Persephone deck}
Wanted: Zoe [Immoral Bounty to Londinium, White Sun (Apprehend/Kill 2, Botch)] [$3600] {Silverhold deck}
Wanted: Two-Fry [Bounty to Persephone, Lux (Apprehend/Kill 1, Botch)] [$2600] {Regina deck}

@COMaestro, you’re not in a planetary sector, and normally you’d lose your second action – but you are still Solid with Harken, so you can Deal with him. This lets you look at his Jobs, as well as buying as much fuel as you want for $100 each.

May as well look at his jobs then.

EDIT: Oh, and obligatory “BOOOOOOO” to the Nav deck.

Sorry about the delay, I will move the Reaver in Djinn’s Bane one sector to South East, and the Corvette east of Ariel, but avoiding Bellerophon

Turn 7.4 Burgess and Bonanza DJCT

7.4.1 work

Big Black cattle drive [Shipping from Athens, Georgia (4 CA) to Sihnon, White Sun (4 CA)] [$1600, Companion +500] [Needs :gun::gun:] (P)

Load 2 cargo.

7.4.2 fly

Full burn, one fuel used.

  1. The Big Black [Keep Flying!]
  2. Derelict Ship [Option 1: Pick the Bones: --Salvage Op: Load 2 Cargo. --Full Stop.] [Option 2: Hold to Course: --Keep Flying.] (I generally assume players will turn down this kind of opportunity unless they have a Salvage Op bonus, but let me know if I’m wrong.)
  3. Reavers Dead Ahead! [–The player to your right must move a Reaver Ship to a Sector adjacent to your current location, not occupied by a Firefly. --Keep Flying.] (@COMaestro that’s for you to do. Any of the three Reavers on the board.)

Turn 7.5 Nandi and Bonnie Mae @gmwhite999

Let’s move the one just outside of Reaver Space to the sector with Priam and Ithaca.

What are those white blobs in the “south west” of Alliance space?

Alliance alert tokens.

When you move into a sector with (N) tokens, a d6 roll of 1-N will bring down a relevant ship on you (Cruiser or Corvette, in Alliance space; only the Corvette outside it). There are also the Reaver tokens, which work the same way. Tokens are cleared after the roll.

Thank you for clarifying.

First, the Bonnie Mae will attempt to fly (full burn) to Osiris, which via Boros is I think4 spaces.

Then: well, we’ll see if I get there.

7.5.1 Fly

Full burn, one fuel used.

  1. The Big Black [Keep Flying!]
  2. Ship Graveyard [Option 1: Premium Salvage: Tech 8 Salvage Op; 1-7 Load 2 Parts. Full Stop. 8+ Take 1 Ship Upgrade from any discard pile. Full Stop.] [Option 2: No Time to Dilly Dally: --Keep Flying.]

OK, that I want to give you a chance to consider. Here’s what you could choose from if you stop here and make the Tech roll:

Concealed Smuggling Compartments ($1000, 2 Additional Stash areas. Up to 2 Crew Onboard Ship may ignore Alliance Wanted Crew rolls.) (SU-R)
Decoy Nav Sat Cluster ($400, Discard at the start of a Move Action to treat all Nav Cards that would normally move a Reaver or Alliance Ship as a “Big Black” card instead.) (SU-SB)
Electronic Defense Suite ($800, Rivals boarding your ship may not use :wrench: Skill for Boarding Tests. Spend 1 Fuel to Evade Reaver Cutter. Ignore the effects of either the Reaver Cutter Nav Card or Contact Event.) (SU-O)
Expanded Crew Quarters ($600, +3 to Ship’s Max Crew.) (SU-O)
Fully Equipped Med Bay ($600, May re-roll Medic Checks.) (SU-O)
Mag-Grappler Launchers ($800, +3 :wrench::wrench::wrench: for Boarding Tests. After Salvage Ops, Roll: :wrench: 8 1-7: Nothing Shiny. 8+ Take 1 Ship Upgrade from any discard pile.) (SU-R)
Onboard Chop Shop ($1600, After any Salvage Op, take $500 and Load 1 Contraband.) (SU-R)
Xunsu Emergency Ram Jets ($600, Discard and use an Action to Initiate a Full Burn. May be used in addition to a standard Move Action.) (SU-SB)

Lovely as they all are, I have no tech skills so it’s less than a 1 in 6 chance that I’ll get to salvage an upgrade. I will continue flying.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:

7.5.1 fly cont’d

(into Alliance space)

  1. Alliance Entanglements [Option 1: Wild Gosling Chase: --Move the Alliance Cruiser to any Alliance Sector not occupied by a Firefly. --Keep Flying.] [Option 2: A Legitimate Tip: Requires Solid Harken Rep: --Move the Cruiser to an Alliance Sector with an Outlaw Ship. --Take $500 & Keep Flying.]

Not much you can do with this - the only Outlaw in Alliance Space is Yun Qi and the Cruiser’s already there! But I guess you take the $500.

  1. d6: 5 for Alliance Alert

7.5.1 Fly cont’d

  1. Fire in the Engine Room [Option 1: All Hands on Deck!: --Tech 8 1-7 Kill 2 Crew. 8+ Whew… Fire’s Out. --Full Stop.] [Option 2: Decompress the Hold!: --Discard all Goods in Hold; do not discard Passengers or Fugitives. --Full Stop.]

(You can put all your Goods in the Stash, so you can take the full stop at Osiris.)

Yes stashing it all seems wise! I shall do that and make it to Osiris.

For action 2, I want to Buy and draw two cards, considering them with the Electronic Defense Suite in the discard pile.
