The big disadvantage of this system, which is why I prefer discobot, is that it doesn’t show you who wrote the original post.
Oh well. It’s easy enough to do arithmetic.

This is much like sitting across the room from two people who are desperately trying to get Alexa to play their favourite Allman Brothers album.
I started with the one currently running here, and GitHub - Firedrake/discourse-dice-roller: Adds [roll XdY] macro to Discourse is the result. I plan to switch over to it next time there’s an upgrade. Advantages:
