A Touch of Evil - PBF Game 1

I’ll keep the investigation for now thanks

Okay. A fairly succesful turn there.

On to Anne Marie (@COMaestro): where do you wish to go with your movement of 2?

I bet @RossM and @RogerBW are delighted to have me on their team in a game where dice rolls are key! My Pathfinder exploits are special

@COMaestro might be too if Anne Marie makes a wise move this turn and you fancy being generous to her with your possessions.

@COMaestro I’m in a bit of limbo with my health at the moment. My possessions aren’t 100% worth using the healing for, so happy to share

(Isabella is planning to go to the Fields and hoover up that Investigation, unless anyone suggests otherwise.)

When someone is suitably equipped we need to deal with that hound. I think hoovering is a good default action.

Anne Marie will move to the Church and try to nab the remaining Investigation. And if someone is feeling generous, she will increase her book collection (and Cunning) first.

Take mine. It’s a book so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel

@gmwhite999 asked for a die roll:
Okay. Anne Marie hops to the Church and meets up with Heinrich who kindly gives her his Book of the Occult - at a church of all places!

Her Event card at the Church is …

  • Strength of Courage. Play immediately. Play this card on any Hero. That Hero immediately gains +1 Honor.

Who do you wish to bestow this gift upon (it could be yourself)?

Also, with your new Cunning of 6, you attempt to grab the 1 remaining Investigation on that space … 6d6: 6 + 1 + 6 + 5 + 1 + 4 = 23

Okay yes you take that Investigation. Do you wish to take any further actions this turn - although I don’t think that you can?

In terms of honour mine is 2 which is the lowest. Do we want to bring everyone up or do we want to increase one persons to the maximum possible?

I was going to use it on Isabella, who has a 2. I did not realize Thomas was a 2 as well. You have been having some crap luck though, so yes, Thomas can have it.

Okay, sharing the love around, everybody. Apt for Valentine’s Day. Honor is useful for everyone as you will all need it for training and all need at least a couple of buffs for that.

I think that’s Anne Marie done though. Over to Isabella (@RogerBW): are you still heading into the Fields?

[Isabella]
Yes, let’s do it. An encounter first, I guess?

@gmwhite999 asked for a die roll:
Fields Encounter roll: d6: 3

Okay, Isabella wanders into the Fields and luckily draws an Event card, which is …

  • Brilliant Deduction. Play to give any Hero or Town Elder +2 Cunning for the rest of the turn or Showdown Fight Round OR Play to immediately peek at the Secrets of one Town Elder without revealing them.

So, your next action - to try to collect the Investigation? If so, do you or one of the others wish to play a card to help you in your search first?

Could he play the card on himself to improve his hoovering chances?

Oh most definitely.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
OK, 3 cunning dice for 5+ give me 1/27 of getting all three. 5 for 5+ would make it 51/243. But looking at Secrets is worth four Investigation and has to be done, I think. So assuming that this maps to “make that secret public” in the cooperative game, I’ll

  • spend the card to look at Lord Hanbrook’s Secret
  • roll my normal 3 cunning dice for the Investigation here

3d6: 4 + 2 + 3 = 9 for 5+
