What are you reading?

Misread that as “The GORN Bride”…

[I did not just spend 10 minutes editing a wedding dress onto a Gorn, honest]

I like the word. It gives me confidence. Gorn … gorn. It’s got a sort of Woodville quality about it.

“Bride” is a bit of a tinny word, mind. Should probably have just titled the novel “Gorn”. Or perhaps “Caribou”.

Oh well … whole afternoon to kill … better have a bath I suppose.

Finished Rhythm of War (Book 4). Onwards to the finale of the first arc.

I started Wind and Truth last night. The preface indicates that this is Sanderson’s longest novel so I think it’s going to take me a while to get through.

You are going to easily finish that before me.

I started in December oO. But it turns out that it crossed swords with AoC fighting for my attention and …lost.

I’ve always felt sorry for Pigeons.
It is a good read.

Reviled? No, that would be the white ibis, commonly known as the bin chicken.

New house is now sufficiently unpacked and organised that I can share everything I read in March/April. Bit annoyed I now have to reshelve all these again …

I read Era 1 and 2 with a big gap in between. I’m tempted to re-read Era 1 given all that’s gone on in the other Cosmere novels.

Only about halfway through Wind and Truth though.

The new Joe Abercrombie, The Devils. The early scenes are set in a corrupt fantasy Rome, ruled by Her Holiness, the Pope. Reading this on the first day of a papal conclave added to its impact.

My copy should be waiting for me when I get home. I recently re-read his Age of Madness trilogy to whet my appetite for this new book.

Going to see him at a book event in Edinburgh on Saturday. He is an engaging speaker!
