Only coins are transferable. Decisions involving Faith and Votes are not binding but any deception can always be used in discussions or future negotiations.
This is the actual text of the variant:
Instead of the Head of the Church being forced to either pick a Red Event himself or give a Green away, Important Events are always randomly assigned. Before drawing randomly, however, the Head of the Church can choose to pay 1 Faith to either take a Green event or assign a Red to another Baron (Purple Events are always random). He can also take a Red Event on himself or give a Green away to gain 1 Faith

Can I ask - what if we decide, for instance, to give a green to someone but the card drawn is then red? Do we keep drawing until we get a green or was the faith/bribe then wasted?

The top card is always revealed. The top of the next event card. And so we know it is green.
That is always known. what the next card will be. So, when we resolve this one, we will reveal what type (red/green/purple) the next card will be.
May God’s will be done.
Sometimes God’s will can be more clearly done if someone slips a few coins to His representative on Earth. Just sayin’.

The gain faith is from the supply. Perhaps the boss is saying to you, choose one so that I can give you more faith!
If they don’t pay, I don’t choose. In fact, bugger it, I’ll have the green, please. I know it makes some else HoC but I know in my heart who the real hero is here.
