Is this farewell post the one in which he announces his new YT channel? The one linked at the top? Just to make sure that I didn’t miss anything else.
I feel SUSD always tried to keep a “clean” website. I guess they are a business, so it maybe has to be like that. Not sure though I didn’t like how they handled the forum and how quickly they shut that down. It wasn’t just Ava and Paul though they are probably the biggest names but there were other guest writers and their posts just stopped. At least as far as I noticed and I read all written content back in the day.

Yeah, there are a lot of part timers (Kylie, Brendan, Pip, Thrower) and I would expect them to come and go unannounced. The full timers and long timers I would expect something more.
I wasn’t on the inside, but I got the impression that they’d set it up with trusted regulars as moderators, but all those mods had drifted away over time; so when an incident happened none of the mods knew the people involved or had been in the conversation, and none of the actual su&sd crew used the forums at all. They didn’t want that to happen again, thus the shutdown. (Also they were generally letting their own web site rot and favouring commercial social media instead, and I suspect forum hosting was up for renewal.)
