I got an emailed tracking number for a package from game crafter. I think it is going to be the Planet Unknown reprint and expansion, but I have so many outstanding pledges I’m really not sure. Guess I’ll see when it shows up.
Asking for a favour, would anyone mind taking a look at my KS page for Spokes (not live yet), and letting me know any errors or just things that don’t read well or anything that needs changing? Thanks!
I’m a bit confused by the animation showing slipstreaming. I’m guessing that if the line of spokes of the same colour keeps going in front of another player you can overtake them? I.e. you don’t have to go back on yourself like in the example.
This sentence is also a bit unclear:
If you land on another player you slipstream them- this gives you a bonus wild spoke on a future round, and can be chained to continuously slipstream the player in front.
Are you continuously slipstreaming the same person over multiple rounds, or multiple people in the same round?
This would be my understanding too. Maybe stating the wild spoke is for “use in a future round might clarify things. As it’s a single card flipping I assume you can only have 1 wild spoke at a time.
I think the extra bikes and track markers sound good but confusing with the earlier statement on no bundles. Assuming that these will be extras you can add after backing but it wasn’t clear.
Fast-paced is usually hyphenated unless at the end of a sentence.
“Since then it has been refined with stunning artwork added, to create the stunning game it is today.”
Usually you want to avoid repeated words in a sentence. Replace the first “stunning” with “beautiful” or “breath-taking” or “sleek” or your adjective of choice.
That’s correct- you slipstream once to get the wild spoke, but you can slipstream again when you use the wild spoke, making it convenient to sit behind the leader until the opportunistic time to overtake them. I’ve rewritten that piece to hopefully make it sound clearer.
As for the no bundles- everyone gets the free track change board, and the bonus bike meeples will just be a small add-on rather than a different pledge level (just some bike meeples and wooden markers in place of cardboard ones, nothing game changing). It’s just to differentiate it from the gargantuan pledge levels that some Kickstarters have.
Feb 18th, we’ll be doing a early bird offer of £2 off the pledge level, but if anyone here isn’t online that day and wants to back it just let me know and I’ll give you a £2 refund to make up the difference. Not the biggest fan of early birds, but I know they work in getting eyes on the game through Kickstarter.
I think the description around the Kickstarter deluxe edition is a bit unclear/hidden. It mentions that there is a deluxe edition, a bit further down that if you spend a bit more then nicer tokens will be added, but there’s no clear indication of what this deluxe version costs.
Looks like a cracking game, best of luck when it goes live.
Thank you! That was when I was thinking of having a deluxe version, but just got rid of it (I hate the idea that some games are non-deluxe) instead, you can have bike meeples instead of cylinders, and wooden tokens instead of card. Just forgot to remove that reference to a deluxe verison
