Ten of the Best, New*, Small-Box Boardgames!

I love the look and high concept of the Fancy Metallic Classic-ish Games line (whatever the publisher calls it), but nothing I’ve seen makes me actually want to buy them instead of just buying a cool deck of cards. It’s cheaper, easier to introduce to “non-gamers,” more flexible, and the classic games are usually just as good as their fancy updates, but with fewer rules and a smoother teach. Like, Hungry Monkey seems fun and all, but the best part seems like the endgmae, where players are just randomly flipping over cards and hoping they win–which is the exact same endgame as Palace! Except in Palace, you have to go through two rows of cards, which makes for funnier swings of luck and misfortune.
