Star Trek Ascendancy game 1

I hate those fish guys!

Ok. Is it possible another system could fit to the west of dakala?

I don’t think so - even if you get a 2-length lane it overlaps the edge.

ETA - sorry, that was “SE of Coridan”. Stand by.

No, even a 2-length won’t fit W of Dakala.

Shame.

Hmm what to do with 6 command.

Oh, hang on. If I push Dakala right out to the edge, then another 2-length lane and system would fit - but 3 or 4 wouldn’t.

Let’s launch at impulse then, see what we find

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
d3+1: 4 lane length

Nope. Retreat!

With 3 Impulse movement you can end up on Dakala, or go one step back towards Coridan III.

Dakala Please.

One command to brave the Eagle nebula.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Ship lost on a 6: d6: 1

Ship next to black hole moves into black hole.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Lost on a 4+: d6: 4

Ship at Riza speeds at impulse to the science fleet and joins it.

I think that’s all my commands?

I assumed you were keeping track. Here’s my reckoning:

  1. 1 ship enters warp from Earth
  2. and leaves warp via Coridan at Dakala
  3. 1 ship at Dakala enters impulse
  4. 1 ship braves the Eagle Nebula
  5. 1 ship moves at impulse into Black Hole
  6. 1 ship moves at impulse from Risa to Indri VII and the science fleet

So two more.

Warp the ship at Regulus to Tama

Over to @Marx.

@Marx asked for a die roll:
Rightio. Fingers crossed for some good luck this round, see if I can catch up to those dastardly Feds…

Build Phase

  • 5 Culture to gain 1 Ascension (3 total now)
  • 3 Research, one on each project, completing “Cloaked Orbital Mines”, gaining me 1 Culture, and putting both of the others at 2/4 Research
  • I spent two Production on Turn Order, so I have 14 remaining.
    – 9 Ships in Romulus, formed into Fleet 2 (just the generic “Lots of Dudes” fleet)
    – 3 Ships at Sherman’s World
    – 2 Ships at Hupyria

Command Phase

  • Command 1: start research on “Orbital Defence Grid” (comes into play with 1/3 Research on it)
  • Command 1.1 (free action): Brave the Hazard with my Science Fleet.
    – Hazard is a 5, my Shields are 1, roll of a 6 results in Earth-shattering Kaboom: d6: 1

@Marx asked for a die roll:
Phew! Okay, we’re going to hold onto that Research, just putting it in my pool.

  • Command 2: Mining Fleet Mines, adding 2 Production to my pool.
  • Command 3: Ship at Hupyria goes into Warp
  • Command 4: Hupyria ship travels Hupyria → Neutron Star (Warp Lane Length d3+1: 3) → Argo
  • Command 5: Science Fleet enters Warp
  • Command 6: Science Fleet travels to the Mutara Nebula
    – Braves the Hazard, no Shields so a ship asplodes on 5 or 6 d6: 1
