Regicide - Crown Duels

Crown Duels is 2-player duel game, where players assume control of the corrupt royalty from Regicide. Like Regicide, it’s played with a standard 52-card deck. Don armour and weapons, cast spells and empower your equipment as you slowly become corrupt and unleash an epic beatdown on your opponent.

Rules are here: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/317525/crown-duels-a4-rulebook

This is evidentially a head-to-head game with thematic ties to the rules of Regicide, but extremely different in terms of gameplay. (BGG is currently suggesting that it “Reimplements Regicide”, but that’s clearly not true.)

“Reimplements” is also used for “based on.” In particular, 2-player variants of multiplayer games such as 7 Wonders Duel (and many others).

A note from the Kickstarter campaign:

If you’ve been trying out Crown Duels at home then you might be playing without an important rule. It is correctly reflected in the learn to play video, but if you used the rule PDF from board game geek, it was accidentally omitted.

When your royal is defeated you discard all cards in your defence zone and attack zone - yep, when you die you lose your armour and weapons.

An important rule to note! The rules up on BGG have been updated.
