There’s a new set of free rules for Viking era wargames just released by Little Wars TV.
Why I felt it worth sharing is that the rules have been specifically designed to be a simple entry point for historical wargaming. There’s various guides to painting and terrain making within the rules, with further guides planned. The system is low figure count, and there’s even papercraft figures as an alternative. The rules can also easily be adapted to a Fantasy or other historical setting.
