Photos of our pets

He’s opened a portal to that spot he likes underneath the sofa!

I think it’s a combination of:

  • Marlowe is a significantly smaller cat than Morse
  • He’s created a hollow in the middle of the blue bean-bag, and the bottom of that is rather lower down than the level on the outer edge.
  • He’s curled himself (or been pushed) into a really odd position.

Big young dog succeeded at being out in public today. Only needed minor treat reinforcement when he realized food was on tables

He was also good enough at a garden party for a “dog wedding” the 5th graders decided to have. Only barked at the small dogs that charged at him and responded when I pulled him back

Meet our newest arrival Tabitha. She was found yesterday morning stuck deep in my partner’s rock garden fountain. We heard a distressed meowing and had to remove quite a few big rocks to get to her. God knows how she got there or where she came from, as we haven’t seen her around the nearby area. She’s safe inside now, in a large pen to keep her away from the other older cats until she goes to the vets on Monday for tests and a check-up, but seems to be healthy, maybe two to three months old and doing well, other than being whinny. Our newest little angel.

About a year ago, my husband and I signed up to be foster parents (of humans feels important to add since this is the pet thread). This week we welcomed a 5-year-old into our home on what is expected to be a long term placement. He and our dog Gwen are fortunately getting along wonderfully.

17 years with Donut ended today. She had been fighting off cancer (2 surgeries), kidney disease, diabetes, and a host of other stomach issues, and today she finally was allowed to rest.

Here she is with her sister Milly (who we lost to cancer about 6 years ago).

“What? No. You come to me.”

There is a Donut-shaped hole in our hearts.

Sympathies, and a toast. “Absent cats.”

We have 5 ferals who hang out in our back yard. Not exactly pets but not not pets.
This is Smurfette, named such because was the only female of the bunch when there were only 4. She is also the bully, picking on the others. My wife hates her.

She sent me this with the caption, “I know she’s plotting my demise.”

Our cat sitter sends me a photo whenever she visits. I’m noticing a bit of a theme…

Very similar to our catsitter’s theme.

She shows disappointingly little interest in games. Won’t even sit in a box.

This lighting was “challenging”, so I played around with Gimp’s colour options :).

Poor old Percy is not with us any longer. I took his ashes to his favourite beach on Sunday. There were whales, and nippers at some SLSC pre-season event, and lots of dogs inculding one very like a younger Percy, who disappointingly refused to defect.
