How long until a vehicle is found in the trees?

I am reminded of the book in which the villain’s incompetent minions put up signs saying things like

This is a very safe road.
This road has won first prize in the All-Ireland Safe Roads Contest.
A boy can bicycle along it with his eyes shut.
Try it today!

Also very reminiscent of the method used to defeat the Auditors in Terry Pratchett’s Thief of Time.

There’s a very clever bear hiding in the bushes between, just waiting…

I’m one of the few people who likes the 2016 edition. Curious about the new one.

I liked it, a huge improvement in gameplay over the 90s version.

The cards were terrible though.

While I have playtested the new edition (and am under an NDA), it’s too early to know component quality…

Proving once again that the world is tiny, I happen to have the exact book on the shelf next to me!
“The Hounds of the Morrigan”.

One big disappointment, the “it was all a dream” style of ending sadly common in children’s fantasy, but otherwise great fun.

All too common in early scientific romances, as well. In some cases clearly to avoid upsetting the church et al, but in others it’s hard not to be annoyed by the author’s laziness.

With some (e.g. Nesbit’s The Magic City) I think it’s explicitly about growing up: the fantasy-play can make you a better person, but then you’ll put away childish things, because there’s no room for fantasy or wonder in grown-up life. (Says the grown-up who’s made a career out of writing about fantasy and wonder…)

Someone as a joke has suggested my wife should get a Command Stave for moving boardgame pieces as she’s short.

I think this is a marvellous idea and am trying to find one with no success. Does anyone have an idea about where I can get one in the UK without breaking the bank please?

There’s a design on Thingiverse if you happen to have access to a 3d printer:

Presumably you could adjust the length to suit seeing as you appear to need to provide your own dowels

Alternatively, a grabber

(I’m tempted to get one for my own short-armed needs  )

You could always use a spatula.
