I plugged something into a power strip my wife uses, and noticed the plug retention was poor. I said something to her, and she said yeah, I don’t use that outlet. I took it away, and because it is the sort that uses normalish receptacles, opened it up.
The offending receptacle was broken in half.

To my untrained eye, it appears you have a cross-country ski binding inside your outlet.

I see the problem.
The ski is missing.
The boot is not going to grip and glide on the snow the same way you’d expect a ski to.
