Sounds like any ambition you had has been foiled.

Aww man. Jane Goodall passed away. She loved every single one of them. From Chimpan-A to Chimpan-Z.

This really doesn’t work in English.

But luckily I’ve learned a bit of American, so I get it!

I think between Naaz-Rokha Alliance or Arborec, with a bit of an edge going to the NRA.

The Arborec are powerful but very tricky to get a hold of with their weird Production (and it tends to result in Feast/Famine cycles as you lose Infantry in wars). The Naaz, on the other hand, reward you for exploring (which you want to do anyway), and let you sift through the Artifact deck for the real bangers.

The Gene Sorcerers are too fiddly in my opinion. You have to play 6 Dimensional Chess (with Time Travel Variation) to get good kilometerage out of them. I’ve only tried them once, though, so maybe I just haven’t given them a fair shake.

But yeah, out of those options, I think Naaz if you want an easier, more straightforward path to the throne, or Arborec if you’re willing to work a bit harder and be more aggressive.

I saw those centrifugal compressor housings on the thumbnail, and realised that someone was serious.

My freshman roommate could have used one of those. He could sleep through any thing (including the fire alarm). On days when he had to get up, he’d put an old fashioned windup alarm clock in a pot. This didn’t actually wake him up, but it got someone else (often me, but just as often a passerby) to pummel him until he made it stop.

Yeah my housemate at Uni could sleep through everything too, including me slapping him open handed on his back so hard that it left a mark for 2 days

They have finally responded and it’s still no trolleys

Apparently I am “either mistaken or being untruthful”, according to a reply from Handycon to one of the several friends who kindly asked them about this since they wouldn’t deign to reply to me, and I definitely wasn’t told what I remember being told. They don’t have a rule about game trolleys, but they don’t think people should bring them anyway, because they have a game library of their own.

I hope this helps anyone else who was wondering whether to go.

I can safely say that had I been wondering whether to go, this would have made my mind up beyond even the slightest doubt.

News on drones… I wish more world leaders played more video games. Anyone who played Starcraft knows you fight a swarm with a swarm (or a bunker with 4 drugged up Marines, but that doesn’t apply here).

The news says they are scrambling jets to shoot down drones. Someone needs to be developing “eagle” drones or some such “drone of prey” to pair up and take down.

Related, it’s alarming how the present situation is fostering such a rapid evolution of drone warfare. I’m wondering if this is a bit like WWI and the machine gun. New technology, a chance to work out the kinks, and war is never the same again.

Pretty much. Ukraine and Russia have been learning this game for years, and now Russia has realised that it’s ahead of nearly all other countries.

Just a note - as I’m reading more yes, Ukraine is already building thousands of interceptor drones. It’s other countries that are scrambling jets or firing missiles designed for jets as they are behind this curve.

And apparently wrapping important buildings in fishing nets? Larger drones are easier to shoot down, and smaller drones are stopped by fishing nets. Interesting.

Noting that trench warfare with machine guns was observed in the American Civil War, but European ldaders chose to ignore the evidence.

I would perhaps argue that they’re better suited for the “air policing” role they’re doing.

In terms of technology, plenty of countries have anti-drone technologies (drone or otherwise) some that have been around a while.

Perhaps where they are lacking is doctrine. Russia and Ukraine have unfortunately had the chance to develop there.

Hard to say as an outsider (or even as someone who has a little inside knowledge).

To be fair on SOME countries, Britain for example already took notes of drones during the previous Armenia-Azerbaijan War that happened a few years prior to Ukraine. The oil-rich Azerbaijanis completely obliterated the poorer Cold War Age Armenian army with Turkish drones.

But I dont follow mil-ware news to see if the UK did anything about this lessons other than the fact that they have tested prototype lasers for this purpose
