This came up in a recent Bundle of Holding, and we thought we’d try it out.
Session 1: So Long As He Doesn’t Go Underneath My Wheels: Character generation, and one night at the diner…
Session 2: Were We Part Of Your Plan, Shonny?: Let’s put it like this, the plane doesn’t really need to explode, but it would be cool if it did.
Session 3: A Fellow Clash of the Titans Fan: The plot scaffolding is collapsing, but we muddle on through…
Session 4: Tales of the Diamond Dick: Ah, gravity my old nemesis. We meet again.
Session 5: Learning Martial Arts In a Two Hour Helicopter Ride While You Were Unconscious: You mean there are Lamborghinis WITHOUT pistols in the glove box? Not at this party.
Session 6: Thank You For That Chorus of Recollection: Are you saying it’s an alien? No. Do pay attention.
My 11 year old daughter really enjoyed and Indiana jones style “search for Atlantis” game with outgunned this past summer
In parallel news my FLGS is having their stock reduction sale and I picked up the other Italian company produced action rpg Broken Compass at reduced price
I wonder how much of that is based on how the game designers would expect the game to be run or if they added more rolls because it was a sample adventure so you want to lean more into the mechanics.
For me, I greatly enjoyed the set up and character generation, really got me in the mood. It wasn’t that I felt there were too many rolls - I like dice rolls! - but the results felt very samey. We almost always rolled 5 or 6 dice, and we almost always got a success or critical, especially given that we rerolled. Just felt a little flat and a rather uninteresting resolution system, from my perspective. Loved the game, less sure of the system.
Hi since early December I’ve been having problems accessing the podcast from Youtube Music, Spotify and the Pocketcast App. With Youtube only a single episode is visible but won’t play or download. On Spotify the link no longer works and I can’t find the podcast by searching. On the Pocketcast app it seems to have stopped updating after the Bayern 21 episode. Is there some other app I could try or something I can try to get one of my existing apps to work, thank you in advance for any ideas?
I’m seriously thinking about delisting WH from spotify anyway for ethics reasons. If you can possibly use the main RSS feed (which I’m about to try to fix, and which everything else copies from anyway) please do.
I made a change on 15 December for other purposes and apparently didn’t notice that it had broken link generation. Should all be restored now. Thanks @kitch66uk for letting me know!
Thank you. Pocketcast is working again so I can get my Whartson Hall fix that way. I’ve been listening since Slideways so I really missed the podcast. I tried a few different ways of listening but none worked as well as one of the podcast apps.
Everything that isn’t us (apple, spotify, etc.) relies on the RSS feed working. Of course they didn’t bother to tell me anything was wrong, and I never use them myself.
I am still bitter about how, back in the day, Google declared that RSS was dead and so pulled support for Google Reader.
Now I’m bitter about how the Google podcast player was killed and forced a switch to the YouTube Music app and now getting my podcasts (fed by RSS) is harder.
I’m still disappointed by how many people saw the demise of one closed-source RSS client and instantly assumed that the entire protocol was now dead so they’d better switch to some proprietary thing instead.
