Oath PBF companion thread, for rules questions and the like

Need your discard order, you can privately message me that.

Just for setup, no significance during the game.

Wow! I forgot conspiracy kept all but 2 of the favour on the card too.

Fine move @Whistle_Pig.

Although that mob will be hard to keep happy next turn.

Nope, recover from anywhere but to target something held by a player, you need to be at their position.

Any of their relics and banners if their pawn is at your site. (A banner adds defense dice equal to the number
of favor or secrets on it.)

From Law of Oath 5.5.2

Then I had it flipped in my head.

This is fine. You can declare any number of targets: the banner, the pawn, other relic(s). Each adds a number of defence dice, so it gets harder. You probably don’t want or need to target the pawn.

Other things you need to consider:
You can potentially move for free using the Buried Giant.
Whistle Pig will probably use Mercenaries for -3 attack, and sticky flame if she wins.
You need to declare now if you are using (paying for) Second Wind.

I think I am keeping my last secret, so I will travel using two supply instead.

Second Wind I can only use if I am victorious, and I don’t see what else I need to attack if I win…

OK, so you are not using second wind.

(my point was that it must be paid for now, which new players seem to miss, not that it is necessarily a good idea. That said, you could, for example, do an easy campaign for, say, Sticky Fire or the Ring of Devotion using Second Wind, then follow up with your real campaign against the banner. Or just use Second Wind to move for free.)

@Whistle_Pig needs to declare in main thread if using Mercenaries.

Am I right in thinking that @COMaestro will win on his next turn (I.e. directly after my turn) and that I would not be able to use the Lancers at the Salt Flats in a battle, even if I were at that site, because I don’t rule it?

Correct on both counts.

I thought yashima played right before me.

And obviously I will do something against that winning thing of yours. I have a plan!

@yashima I hope it’s a good plan, because I don’t think I can do much to assist!

I assume that using Master of Disguise means that I would need two secrets to trade for favour?

Yes, it’s a trade modifier that costs a secret to activate. You can of course choose not to use it.

By the way, I don’t think you have to publicly annouce your discard order in a truthful harp search.

@Whistle_Pig please continue with your turn.

This literally has a 0% chance of success. You are spending 4 supply and losing a warband for nothing. Are you sure that’s what you want to do?

I’ve edited it to be marginally less insane.
