Joysticks for PC

I do a bit of flight simulation from time to time. (I.e. I immerse myself in it for a few weeks to the detriment of everything else in my life, then stop dead.)

My last joystick has died. What’s good now?

What I would ideally like, since I am a cheapskate, is not a separate throttle and rudder block, but a twist-grip for axis 3 and an on-board throttle for axis 4.

I don’t really care much about buttons.

I’m running Linux, but last I checked pretty much anything USB that worked with Windows would work.

I’d rather spend a bit more money and get something solid than save now and have to spend more later.

About 4 years ago, my answer was Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Twist grip, and the throttle is the small black roll switch on the back of the base. Was fine for Elite Dangerous!

No idea if there’s something a million times better out there now, and depending on the experience you want, the throttle may be small/in the wrong place. But it was all good and precise.

I just bought the Logitech because there were not many other options - works fine for me!
