Oh dear, is this Pandemowship?
'Tis! I read the rules, it makes some interesting changes. Players have two characters each. You can move other characters with you for free when you move, if they agree. There are armies that can move with your characters to battle the Shadow forces. The game entirely hinges on Frodo’s Hope, which can actually be increased, unlike pretty much every other Pandemic game I can think of. It looks like a decent evolution of the Pandemic system.
Figure it’s on BGA for a limited time, it’s worth giving it a try.
Last call for The Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship. I’m going to start it tomorrow morning with just me and inkybloc otherwise.

And we finally have the Georges Quadfecta in one place! No ill will to Yucata but I just can’t get anyone to play over there. (Troyes, Carson City, Ginkgopolis, Carnegie for the curious).
I’m a) going on holiday on Sunday and b) know nothing about Carson City, but if love to try it when I’m back
Super. Ping me when that is!
For anyone else unfamiliar, it’s fighty worker placement and it’s Xavier Geroges (Ginkgopolis, Troyes) so it’s got some real tension.
Down below you have a city map, where you can place workers to claim parcels (and later build roads to them and put buildings on them). Up above you have a typical worker’s market for things like buying buildings, building roads, making money, etc.
At the end of the worker’s market are the killer spots, where you can exchange money for points. You, of course, need your money to play, but points to win. In the first round, when you really need that money, you can exchange 3:1. Each round the exchange gets worse, so it’s a lot of tension on when and how much to cash in. And, of course, these are worker spots, so only one person can score each exchange each round - and in the last round there’s only one exchange spot left…
Which is why we fight for the spots! Multiple people can claim a spot (or a parcel), and at the end of the round there’s a gunfight to determine last caballero standing who gets the reward. Anyone shot backs you up for future fights (that round) - so you usually don’t lose all your fights. And downed cowboys turn into an extra action next round, so it’s got a nice kickback. But still you want to win.
And said cowboys can also go rob other people’s buildings to take half the income. Necessitating the owner to bring their own gunfighter to protect the building (and the income).
Good stuff.
Speaking of Ginkgopolis: anyone up for Ginkgopolis?

There are a couple of newish alphas on BGA.
Irish Gauge, which I really fancy and…
Twilight Imperium 4th Edition. Yes, it’s actually on there!
Would anyone be interested in either? I need to do direct invites
Imperial Settlers is there, as is Wandering Towers (although I think that’s a memory game so not sure async is the way forward)
Down for a bit of Irish Gauge, although I’m never sure if I can get in on alpha testing
Yes on Irish Gauge and TI4. But we will need a thread for TI4
I’m in the alpha group so I can invite people
I’ve asked to see if TI4 is a decent implementation. I don’t want to get into a multi month game if it’s a beast to use
I bet there’s bugs so best to wait. Keen on Irish Gauge as that is straightforward
