Good game. I played far too conservatively to be effective in any meaningful way. I also made some very poor placements and was deservedly punished. It’s brutal, and I adore it.
I am up for rolling into another game of T & E. I know @Benkyo missed out on the last game. Any other takers?
Im in! 10 chars
What’s your BGA name?
Laguna901. Thank you!
I’ll do one more. I’ve been looking forward to sharing a table with @lalunaverde for this one. Though, if anything, the prior three games have pegged me as a “moderate” player!
…they’ve also made me stronger than ever before.
HAH! Bold of you to assume that I am a strong player! I just whine a lot
More a kindred spirit! At least when it comes to Knizia and toothy Euros.
I will happily play but also happy wait until the next turn as well
Anyone up for Railways of the World? It’s a gentler cousin of Age of Steam. But the forward planning on track-laying is still fun. Might go for the rubberband rule on turn order (worst scoring player goes 1st place and so on) rather than doing turn order auction every round.
BGA put a good range of maps so we can be flexible between 3 to 5 players.
I’ll give it a go, but would definitely avoid async auctions!
If you’ll take a beginner to the game, happy to play. But if you are deluged I will step back!
I’m game, I’ll need to read up but it’s certainly popular locally
I’ll go for the rubberband turn order. I’ll wait for a 5th until tonight. Then begin a 4 or 5 player game. The only auction here now is the first round to determine the initial turn order.
Rules-wise, it’s medium weight and, again, is not a punishing game like Age of Steam
I’ll be game if you’re happy for a dunderhead to play! Elcrayo.
I know Age of Steam pretty well (although I’m bad at it). Are the rules similar?
@Captbnut very similar with stripped down rules
Here’s the rulebook: Railways of the World | Official Railways of the World Rule Book Compendium | File | BoardGameGeek
Basic strategy to avoid newbie pitfalls:
While the rules doesn’t stop you from creating separate networks, it’s not recommended to have small networks here and there. As actions are precious, delivering a good over 5 track links is better than delivering with just 1 track link
Watching Rahdo
It seems that the actions are very similar to Age of Steam, you just get to do more of them
Space Base is beta now
I can’t even keep up.
Separately, did you see what happened to our El Grande table? We have someone new in there. I don’t know if Ister bowed out and someone randomly jumped in or what. Or if Ister moved to Hungary and changed his screen name.
