Games with harmonious theme/mechanics

So far Evolution/Oceans hits that trifecta of interesting gameplay, easy rules, thematically immersive. I really enjoy how it captures the mutualism and parasitism involved. Usually, thematic games suffer from rules weight in order to create story-telling.

I haven’t played Evolution (our Guild tends to find it too much on the “tit for tat” category) but I think Oceans definitely hits this nail on the head for me. A simple way where interactions imitate ecosystems and making it fun on the way. Who would not love having an invisible kraken feeding bottom feeders left and right in theirs?
