I don’t think there are any that I will probably never play again, except maybe Gloomhaven, seeing as we finished our campaign. Just holding onto that for the unlikely event that one or more of my kids learns English and wants to play someday. Otherwise, most of my collection sits mostly unplayed - all the longer, more complex, and/or more aggressive games that I love, but are hard to put together a group for.
Looking at my collection, there are a fair few games that I have managed to play that were on my shelf of shame for a while. Some I believe that I will never play, or at least that I am very unlikely to play are:
-Game Of Thrones v2: too long and too old.
-Android: too old?
-Gloomhaven (these days I am playing it on Steam, I have it mainly for the minis and resources that I use with D&D)
-Bardsung? (same reason for keeping it as GH)
-Sleeping Gods: there is a chance that I can play this with my kids when they get older. But it is slim.
-Tiny Epic games other than Dinosaurs: they sell really badly. And the older I get the less I like them. Specially reading the tiny writing.
And, partially:
- Witcher Old World and Everdell Expansions: I should have bought just the base game, it is more than enough.
Is Dinosaurs good? I got it as a gift but haven’t bothered to try it (or read the rules) as my experience of previous TE games (Quest and Pirates) was pretty meh.
I quite like it, worker placement with resource and area management, and super cute meeples. Definitely recommended.
Pirates I have been trying to sell for a while, with no luck.
Tell me about it. As I get older I can feel myself accepting playing games worse if any component has a word on it.
Also, android is a game I nearly got and would definitely fit in this space for me.
Funny enough, one of the perks of being blind as a bat is that I don’t need reading glasses yet, but the tiny size of cards and letter font is not comfortable at all.
That one. It’s that one.
I got some war games and not sure I will ever fully play them but I keep them for sure.
Falling Sky by GMT Games
Sekigahara by GMT Games
Maria by Histogame
We played Maria once but couldn’t finish because of time reasons.
I still have hopes of playing Talon (space wargame).
