England’s sports team wins something: ENGLAND WINS.
Scotland’s sports team wins something: GB WINS.
Yes - exactly!
I wonder now if the publisher has a database of all questions ever featured and in which editions… it would be absolutely fascinating.
Horrible HIstories the board game was a silly game we found and played in the AirBnb we stayed in for our board game outing. That’s a trivia game that I enjoyed
Horrible Histories is great.
I’m at a holiday let at the moment. 2 puzzles and cluedo.
I’m terrible at cluedo due to my poker face apparently
Oof. That “part of the European Union” bit hurt …
Also you could make things even more confusing by delving into the difference between the Commonwealth of Nations and the Commonwealth realms.
I must admit the pain came from the randomness of the answers to some common questions like: In which country can you visit the Rosetta Stone?
And then came the arguments about how England or UK were not a good answer, as the answer printed on the card was Great Britain (which is not a country, it is an island). I think the main issue was the randomness of the printed answers.
If you had a grown up around that knew which was which, you were fine, but that was not always the case: some “printed word” lawyers that loved the fact that they could get you on a technicality like that stole away from the quiz fun, to be honest.
Anyway, I miss the good old Trivial Pursuit days…
Its always odd to see one of the actors/writers from Horrible Histories in other things!
Horrible histories taught me all the kings and queens so I’m forever grateful. Plus it spawned Ghosts which is also great.
