I’d be more worried about the Garlic Naan.
Lord Godalming uses a 2/2 ticket to go to Bordeaux and finds no sign of Dracula’s presence.
Dr. Seward braves the hazardous roads to Vienna, and also encounters nothing indicating the vile Count has ever been there.
Van Helsing (@MichaelCule) is up.
If nothing startling happens, Mina plans to go by road to Rome.
Still waiting on Van Helsing (@MichaelCule).
Sorry. Spent all day running a game for some friends…
Rather than duplicate effort by going to Bordeaux I will take the road to Sargossa with the intention of… But wait… Dracula may be listening.
Van Helsing travels to Sargossa, revealing nothing of Dracula’s trail.
Mina travels to Rome, seeing many architectural wonders, but no signs of her quarry.
Dusk
If there are no events, Week 1, Wed - Night begins with Lord Godalming (@Whistle_Pig)
A question, gentlemen - and Miss Harker: I am strongly considering supplying this night. I am aware of the peril - but does anyone think that is too risky at this time?
I would suggest, my Lord, that you view the TABLETOP play of this. The number of times their Lord Godalming pushed his luck and handed Dracula an advantage is notable.
And on the other hand they did track down and destroy the monster in the end. So make your own judgemnent.
Are we in a hurry?
I think it’s an excellent idea.
Just an FYI, the event deck is 2/3rds Hunter cards and 1/3rd Dracula, so thay may help you in your decision making.
Not really yet, but sooner we find his trail the better, even if we are not heavily tooled up like high level MMORPG characters.
Here’s my thinking aloud. I am on the border of Eastern Europe, which no one has explored yet and has few cities or railway connections. That’s a lot of ground for the Count to skulk around in: indeed, if I were playing Dracula given the hunters’ starting positions, I would have started in the northern east of the map, travel south and maybe a touch west but keeping close to the shore to be able to escape by boat if necessary. Alternatively, with the right cards or feeling lucky, head more west than south and hope to find a gap between the hunters to slip through any advances east that they make.
My inventory is one event card, two items and two train tickets, and my possible actions tonight are either to supply and grab another item (I can have up to four) with the risk of drawing a Dracula event card, or prepare to travel and take another train ticket which may or may not be a better replacement to one of the ones I already have.
I think where I am, drawing another ticket might be a waste - unless of course, the Count is somewhere like Britain or southern Spain - and although there is a chance of handing over a Dracula event card, there’s a reasonably better chance it will benefit me, as well as adding another item and allowing me to move fully in the day.
It’s a group game though, so I’m willing to be persuaded to play it safe.
I welcome suggestions for Mina. I think the Italian peninsula can now be crossed off; should I perhaps look at the Balkans?
I’ve got a cream for that.
“…and Dracula was found impaled on a lady’s parasol. The end.”
Seems a reasonable option yes. It’s possible he started in mid Italy and skipped past you in wolf form, but I’d say unlikely. I could try and meet you by the border of the browny/reddy regions so in consectutive turns we could use your Psychic Bond power in both areas. The likes of Sarajevo/Belgrade and Valona/Sofia seem good places for that.
This seems disturbingly like a plan.
I think that would be something like four full moves from me, whether I do it by land or sea.
Oh hush dear, drink your warm blood and stop reading the newspapers. You know I have your best interests at heart.
Valona in three day moves each by road (well, one sea crossing for you) then one more each back to Sarajevo? Again, just a thought.
Yes, sounds about right.
