A question @COMaestro - if I supply, do I have to discard an item before drawing the new one, or afterwards?
For items and events, you draw and then discard. For train tickets, you have to discard then draw. Best guess as to why is retaining the element of uncertainty from previous versions of the game when using the railways, but without totally screwing over the hunters.

Unless Dr Seward hands an event card to Dracula (in which case Van Helsing will rest) Van Helsing will risk night time supply.
He didn’t - the event card is/was a Hunter one, which our game maestro will confirm when he wakes up.
