We still likely need somebody over there. If the deck gun misses any fire on the first turn, then we need somebody to extinguish and try to get the PoI out of there.

OK, how happy are people with this setup? I’d suggest @Kat/CAFS goes south or east to get to one of the three-fire clumps, and I’ll plan to clean up anything that DJCT’s deck gun leaves behind.

but note that if you use the WYSIWYG editor it will silently insert backslashes before the square brackets, and it won’t work. The easiest way to fix this is to switch to the old editor: At the top left of the box where you type the reply, there’s a pair of icons: “M↓” and “A”; you need “M↓” to be in pale blue.

Since the dice need to be capped to fit into the active quadrant, you can roll them with a reduced range and the effect is the same. In this case we’re in the top left so it becomes

[roll d3] [roll d4]

which I will do now to finish this off:

d3: 3 d4: 4

(3, 4) will get you no extinguishes at all (it fully extinguishes the target square and any that are adjacent). So you can choose to reroll one or both dice. If you reroll one, you’re stuck with the new result, but may then choose to reroll the other.

@DJCT asked for a die roll:
I will reroll black d4: 2

(3, 2) will take out the two fires on row 3.
If you reroll red, 1 gets you nothing, 2 gets you the two fires at (2, 1) and (3, 2).
(And of course you have 2AP left for another deck gun, or to move the engine.)

Simulation: pale blue is what you currently extinguish, green is if you reroll red and get a 2.)

I recommend keeping what you got. If you roll a 1, you’ll get nothing.

Agreed, 2 fires is the maximum you’ll get anyway.
