I’ve seen a few Top Gears after the Clarkson-May-Hammond departure, and the first two seasons after were so, so. Only Matt LeBlanc was saving it. But since Freddie Flintoff has joined, they are a lot better. Although I prefer the Grand Tour (call me a nostalgic) but the banter between those three is soooo good, it is difficult to top it.
Your experience is similar to mine. V is 6 now. Moana and Frozen were go-to’s for years 2 and 3.
Big Hero 6 offers a series of short episodes which she has taken to as a format and Honey a girl with neat powers she likes.
Oh, yeah, in case anyone isn’t watching She-Ra, very seriously watch She-Ra. It’s a ton of fun right from the start, and the final series has BIG epic sci-fi concepts and a really groundbreaking ending. Loved it.
Another +1 for She-Ra. I absolutely loved it all.
I binged the final series the evening it came out. Then a couple of days later I needed more, so I binged the whole series again - start to finish.
Now I’ve moved on to rewatching Lost Girl, which is as wonderfully trashy as I remember. Also another reminder that Canada seems to have a severely limited number of actors available for guest roles in TV shows
I’m pretty sure Matt Frewer is legally required to be in any Canadian production.
If we’re talking trashy Canadian productions… Vagrant Queen is a new pulpy pulp spaceships lasers aliens with headbumps pew-pew series, with actors you’ve seen in other shows. It’s trashy and knows it. It makes Killjoys look high-concept.
Knives out
Which, aside from Craig’s I do, I do declare southern accent, was an absolute joy.
Just finished watching Pacific Rim: Uprising.
It was… much better than I expected. Some pacing issues, and the ending was tragically Deus Ex Machina (like… heavily Deus Ex Machina), but John Boyega was a joy to watch and the rest of the cast were top-notch. A perfect acceptable kaiju film, and I look forward to the next one (I hope there will be a next one!).
I gotta find where I can watch Vagrant Queen. That looks 150,000% my bag.
Thanks @Marx, I had my reservations about watching it, I loved the first Pacific Rim. Will give it a viewing, probably this weekend on Netflix if we have so much rain again…
Yeah I quite enjoyed Uprising. It’s definitely not as well shot as the original, and there are parts that look like they’ve been cut from a Michael Bay Transformers movies, but it’s fun and I preferred the tone to the overly serious original. Boyega is the best thing in it.
