I just packed my stuff.
And set the clock for 5am tomorrow morning or as we say “mi mi mi” time (imagine a plaintive sound here)

we’ve enjoyed Saltfjord. probably telling home a copy.

we also played spectacular which I’ll definitely pick up next. haven’t got a good picture I’ll deliver later.

Spectacular does look like a fun puzzle.

Not what I wanted to see coming round the corner, but it turns out the two sides are unrelated and I now have a copy.

we chatted with one of the designers and he asked me if i had played Harmonies. similar puzzle style albeit very different games. people who played before us said it was Cascadia with added dice drafting. definitely more interactive because the drafting is way different from Cascadia.

The SPIEL app says that Saturday tickets are sold out. Glad I won’t have to go anywhere!

It looks a bit more forward planny than cascadia I think because you can see half the game ahead of you and the scoring is always the same so you can really get a feel for what the good thing to do is.

I think my only apprehension is there might be too many conflicting scoring things which might cancel each other out a bit - but the in game play looks really fun.

I’d assumed Grand Tour was never actually going to exist!
Now I’ll have to keep an eye out for it in shops!

I had to weigh wether to build more towers or get bigger areas. dice aren’t enough and i drafted too few. and the person with the biggest area won. this scales up better than Cascadia because of simultaneous play.

but there were also questions however whether it was okay to wait with drafting and see what others did. so that might be an issue with highly competitive people.

I’m of course also interested in the solo.

image of upcoming Arnak big box. we got to chat with Min & Elwen for a bit about what they are adding. a nice new map with a new mechanism with dark knowledge which gives you powerful options but the more was played the worse the scoring. sounds nice and adds interaction.

the big box will have an insert and i begged for “no air”'and they said the plan is to have an inner with good setup logistics😇

the box is pretty neat looking for a big box. double height but the size slightly bigger a galaxy trucker box if the new edition

this is planned for 2025. so work in progress that wasn’t announced anywhere. i was quite surprised to see it

I think there’s a unique number on the boards that move around that can dictate the order of play if you need to play that way some rounds.

Yeah, I think they first pronised it for Spiel 2022, certainly it was on the list for 23.

Feels a bit less crowded today. I’m hoping some of the local crowd decided to cone yesterday rather than on Sunday morning.
