Ashes: Rise/Return of the Phoenixborn #2

Yes, I have nearly made the same mistake several times.

So let’s pop out a salamander monk, spending a leaf.

Spend angel to Summon Light Bringer. You must Attack as your main next turn,
Side: spend leaf to add Root Armor to the Light Bringer.

Fair enough! I will attack your puny lightbringer with my mighty monk for my main. See what happens before side/reactions etc.

Take the hit, no counter.

Okay, no side and over to you

Main: Celestial Knight and Light Bringer both attack Fiona.
Possible side, depends on what happens.

Fiona will take the damage, ow.

No side. Over to you.

Main: bring ‘Summon mind fog owl’ into play.

No side and over to you.

Spend frog to bring out Butterfly Monk. No side.

Hand: 0

Pop out a frostback bear. No side and done.

I think your exhaust on Summon Mind Fog Owl should be on Summon Frostback Bear.

Pass/none.

mostly for @pillbox: ashes.live was the problem really, because in the “current” section it shows the latest errata-ed version of the card. After a lot of checking, it appears that my set is up to date as of Reborn, while @lordor1 has a mix of some older cards, some newer cards, and some post-reborn errata.

Yeah, they’ve done a really horrible job managing errata communication. It’s basically “there was a change! Please use the new card provided in (some other unrelated product)”

Me: “Err… which card? I mixed my cards together, which one is right?”

PlaidHat: shrugs “Probably the one on Ashes.live…”

Me: “probably!?”

PlaidHat: waves “Byeeeee and buy more of our constant stream of products or you’re not a good person and you hate small publishers!”

Yes. You’re right, sorry. Moved. Main: bring ‘summon three eyes owl’ to play. No side.

Pass, no side.

Exhaust summon mind fog owl to do so. (Costs a heart and a basic).

No side.

Assuming further passes:

next turn

Spend a heart to summon a three eyed owl, no side

turn after next

Exhaust three eyed owl: discard a card

Main: activate Odette’s power to do 2 to the Mind Fog Owl, taking 2 in return.
No side;
