Finally pushed over the 200 different games played this year mark. Phew. Bit of a sprint the last couple of months. My original target of 100 fell so quickly that I thought this would be no problem, but I forgot how the autumn term as a teacher destroys your gaming time.
That was a good 10x10 despite not finishing them. Playing Tigris this year is very good and played it with good players at the OG Guild. S-Rocket and TGZ got a good amount of plays. Alas, curation took a lot of my time.
What’s funny is I end up playing more Railways of the World because guilders love to play it!
For next year, I have a better idea on how to setup challenges. Glad to see everyone’s efforts this year!
I’ve hit almost all of my goals for the year, and then hit several updated goals at double the numbers of the original ones!
100x1, 10x10, and 20x5 all were no problem.
Then I managed 200x1 and 40x5 as extra goals.
The play once every day goal was going fine (and I succeeded with playing abl game every day in 2022) so I added an average of 2 plays a day goal which was also no problem.
In the end, not a lot of motion on my “I Really Wanna Play These” list, but better than last year by a fair margin! And I did get in a fair amount of gaming over the last two weeks, so really, no complaints.
We played Cat in the Box, and Scout, and several rounds of the fantastic A Tale of Pirates (which I didn’t know was designed by the Flamme Rouge / Heat guys! It totally is! It’s great!). We just hit the halfway point in My City (Andy’s 16 to my 15… she’s winning all the games, but I have more gold nuggets in my display case than her, so I’m keeping up that way!). Played a couple rounds of Anomia and pulled out The Fuzzies and Phantom Ink last night, as well as playing our first game of Team3 which was really fun!
Oh yeah! We also played Descent! It was great! Andy’s periodic headaches stopped us from pulling it out again, but I’m hoping maybe tomorrow, if she’s feeling up to it. Gorgeous game, and a lot of fun! I expected the first chapter to be quite short, but it was a full episode. Really neat stuff! We haven’t had a chance to explore the city yet (the “between mission” part of the game), but I’m curious how it will work.
Well, so long 2022. Hello new year and new efforts!

Just four plays for the challenge, which gets me a painful 49/100 plays, just one short of the halfway mark! Big thanks to @captbnut for making Troyes and Race for the Galaxy happen!
On the bright side, I think I easily hit 100 plays of games from this list, as Lost Cities became our most played game of all time in just this year, with 50 plays. The remaining couple are easily made up with excess games of Unmatched, Marvel Champions, and a few others.
We also had a good number of plays of Ethnos, Everdell, Kingdomino, and other games, totaling over 300 plays this year. That’s pretty dang good, in my opinion!

The Resistance, Merchants of the Dark Road, Flamecraft
The Resistance went down like a lead balloon… one spy didn’t realise they were a spy, and is still puzzled as to why there isn’t an actual mission to go on once the team is chosen
Enjoyed Flamecraft, even though it is pretty simple
Played Merchants solo to learn the rules, need another go to see if I like it
Forty-one opportunities ticked off for the year is nothing to sneeze at.
