I was hoping to have finished Imperial Assault by now, though we have scheduled our next (and final in the Hoth campaign) game Thanksgiving weekend which will finish that off. I was also hoping to have finished the Dunwich Legacy campaign in Arkham Horror TCG, which would put me at 8 plays, and I could then try out my couple of standalone scenarios to wrap it up.
I feel I would be much further along if Covid had not happened, but that is likely true for all of us.
Well, yes, but it shouldnāt be at least in my case - I picked soloable games!

V-Commandos should be fine with PBFs here. FUSE I can knock off in a (very tense) afternoon. D-Day Dice I havenāt even cracked open yet. Time to start actually making an effort.
Donāt get me wrong, Iām not normally great at the 10x10 Challenge⦠but I think this year is particularly bad. Moreās the pity.
Played the new Star Wars Unlock once with my partner this month (the āEscape from Hothā scenario is easy, but fun!), looking forward to finishing that in the next day or two. Also played Tea for Two, which is a fancy version of war that neither my partner nor I really cared for.
We did play one game of Forgotten Waters, and boy howdy that game is a joy. Silly, clever, great mechanics coupled to a really interesting story-building core. Highly recommend.
Not much progress in⦠awhile. After slogging along with Tainted Grail for awhile, the group finally decided to do a D&D campaign instead. So thatās as far as weāll get with that, probably.
Otherwise, itās just online for me, and even though I have TTS now, I pretty much only use BGA.
I donāt think I made any progress on anything last month. I played a bunch of new arrivals and increased my count of Spirit Island games by 7 or so to 16 I think
I wonāt be playing a lot in November either because itās NaNoWriMo and I am using it to get back to what I want to be doing
But I still have a chance to complete half of the challenge, just one more game of Nusfjord and Sprawlopolis each and I am reasonably sure Iāll crack The Crew and Codenames with my remaining two girl-game nights. But Clank!, Wingspan and Root look like I am not going to make it. We decided to parallel play our Pandemic II with friends next year month by month so that is definitely not going anywhere.
Blimey! I wish in normal years I could reliably be confident of getting 100 game plays in, even for shorter solo games. Iāll be trying my ā12 Gamedays of Christmasā again this year, hopefully being able to stick to it fully too without having to play catch up once or twice.
Feast for Odin 14 (0)
Age of Steam 13 (0)
Brass Birmingham 8 (3) - including Lancashire
Terraforming Mars 22 (1)
Great Western Trail 5 (0)
Air Land and Sea 5 (0)
Concordia 3 (1)
Flamme Rouge 20 (0)
Dominion 10 (3) including 1 game with the new Menagerie set
Barenpark 5 (0)
Cockroach Poker 0 (0)
Made strides with Brass this week and enjoying the game a lot more than earlier in the year. Weāve been playing a lot of Carcassone both in person and via Zoom over the last 6 weeks or so. 15 plays of Gloomhave: Jaw of the Lion in a ridiculously short space of time. I think Iāve played Doppelt So Clever 100 times since Saturday - does that count??
I canāt believe weāve not had a single game of Cockroach Poker this year, that was my banker!
My last play of Imperial Assault was supposed to happen today, but one of the kidsā therapists was a no show at the center, so we had him for a few extra hours than usual. And I had even taken a half day off from work, too. More to recover from this weekend, but playing the game would have been fun and actually finished off one of my games for the challenge.
So, 41 plays of the 100 so far. Maybe I can hit 50 by yearās end, which would be pretty decent, really, considering my history of these.
Making a huge effort to finish this off now. Iāve been playing a lot of Tzolkāin on BGA. The only straggler is BƤrenpark but I have just discovered a solo variant on BGG, which should help!
Finished the Star Wars Unlock, it was fun (the middle one was the best). Played New York Zoo, and it was typical Uwe (good, not great, but satisfying). Lemme think what elseā¦
Nope, thatās it. And we are now deep into the holiday season, so the little time I had is going to vapourize. Oh well. Only 24 days to go before I get a day off.
On a roll with Netrunner and finally off the mark with Odin.
Poor Masque of the Red Death is still languishing unopened, whistfully awaiting the possibility of a 3+ player session.
While 100% completion of the challenge is looking implausible, at least a pass mark has been achieved. Hopefully can reach a few more targets before the end of the year.
I really need to try and play some games now that November is over. I donāt think I played anything relevant for the challenge in November but congrats everyone to getting closer to your goals
My current standing:
The Crew 10/10
Gloomhaven 10/10
Spirit Island 10/10
Nusfjord 9/10
Sprawlopolis 9/10
Pandemic Legacy (1 + 2) 8/10
Clank! Legacy 7/10 (campaign is finished but we havenāt played any post-campaign games yet)
Codenames 7/10 (really depends on how I count⦠I could be up to 14 if I had indeed counted every single game)
Root 7/10
Wingspan 7/10
If I start counting games on the apps I may yet finish Root and Wingspan. Iāll go for Nusfjord and Sprawlopolis next. Pandemic is impossible because we made a pact with friends to play Season 2 in parallel next year as 1 game a month. So we need to play a few games of Clank!
So. Weāre down to the wire here. Basically the ones I can play online (Carcassonne, Suburbia, Dominion) are likely to be completed. The others (Machi Koro and Heart of Crown) wonāt be. The two campaigns (Pandemic S1 and Tainted Grail) have both been cancelled, so no hope for them either. And then thereās Klask. Could take it or leave it. Could just do some solo bouts of it and say good enough
Eh, I vaguely remembered that. But yucata.de was not hugely inspiring from what I remember⦠And I donāt think it allowed finding random opponents, which is kinda necessary since I donāt have a lot of actual friends to play janky games with at 3 am.
You can start a game and wait for people to join it, or join a game that someone else has started. yucataās very focused on turn-based rather than real time, though.
