A great man once said that he thought bullets should cost five thousand dollars. As we are not currently playing a game of SHASN, we here at SVWAG will demur on weighing in on hot-button political issues at this time. Suffice to say that while there is another raging controversy about whether one should address cost in the context of board games criticism, Bullet♥︎ does not cost five thousand dollars.

I’m looking covetously at A Billion Suns. As far as starship combat games go, I already have Full Thrust and Talon and I don’t play either of those anything like often enough. And I haven’t yet played Gaslands, though I hope to remedy that in a few months.

Oddly enough, I thought the original X-Wing Starter Set did a pretty good job of being interesting and playable out of the box while also giving you an idea of how the game could be if you spent lots more money. (It worked on me.)

Have you watched any ‘Let’s Play’ videos for A Billion Suns at all? It has a fairly unusual fleet buying mechanic, and plays over two or three tables simultaneously.

Not yet. I don’t need to want more games.
