Is it a Star trek character
I’ve started every day off with the same two guesses.
Is it a good strategy? Probably not.
Will it one day pay off with a solve in 1 or 2 guesses? Also probably not.
I looked up words that have a lot of vowels in them as starter words!
I’m tending to start with e.g. orate or atone on the basis that they cover lots of common letters, then something with u and i for the second guess. Often those two answers are enough to limit the search space to where I can start guessing.
My first guess is always “Stern”. Don’t know why… just seems like a useful first guess.
I used adieu
I use shear and point to clear some vowels and useful consonants.
Close. More vowels.
I went with 1-scoring scrabble letters, and often start with STORE or STARE to get some commons out of the way.
It has not been tremendously successful so far!
I have not used the same starter twice but having played lots of Hardback is helpful…
Right I finally got a chance to tackle today’s word
Wordle 205 5/6
They’re getting very fed up with people posting their blobs on the front page of yucata. At least here we have a thread people can mute if they don’t like it.
My starter word is spire. It’s so far doing me no favours.
Then slay it…
Wordle 205 4/6
Is anyone else playing the game of trying to reverse-engineer what other words appear in other people’s grids, or is that just me?
I used spare for my 2/6, but I’m going to switch to stare if I play again.
Wordle 206 3/6
So you get a “magnificent” comment for 2/6, “impressive” for 3/6? Are the comments tied to X/6 at all? If so, I wonder what 1/6 is, (and 4-6/6, I suppose).
* blocks not not arranged by hand.
There’s definitely “splendid” in there somewhere. Maybe it’s 4/6? I’m going off memory so can’t swear to the placement.
I think there’s definitely room for a subgame of trying to make pixel art within wordle.
…but not by manual arrangement.
