Perhaps not, but trees are certainly unusual
Native to high altitudes
I gotta get me some of those…
Because I got hit with another bad migraine, I called in sick and went for a long long walk this morning. It helped while I was outside. They promised snow for last week-end but it didn’t happen.
I always forget how empty eastern Colorado is.
After 12 years of construction the tunnel in my city is done and the trams are now underground for about 1 mile in the city center oO…
Construction all across the city for over a decade made bicycling very popular because the construction was like the Magic Labyrinth boardgame: today here, tomorrow there…
That is amazing. It’s so rare to see streets like that in the UK.
I am so glad for you they are finished now. It is always such a hard time but the results are beautiful!
Ah well, there is still construction all over the place, but that will finish in a few months I believe.
The good thing is this was a decade where we were already aware that transportation has to change and everytime they rebuilt crossings and streets they added better bike lanes etc.
While not perfect by far (there is always room for improvement), my city has pretty decent bicycling infrastructure now. Just last week I discovered they had lengthened one of the bike roads another few blocks and added large swathes of red paint to 2 particularly irritating crossings where bikes now have right of way
When I see the amount of bikes parked around the city even on a cold day, that makes me happy and I do not want to imagine seeing all those people go into the city with cars instead.
The local council does not, perhaps, take the world’s second-most venomous land snake as seriously as foreign tourists might expect.
Are you expected to know what a brown snake looks like, or is the idea that you just stay away for any and all snakes?
Stay away from the brown ones, at least.
If bitten, can I have your ute?
FYI, they look like this when they are pissed off and issuing a Final Warning:
That’s a pretty good idea, yes. Even if you meet a harmless green tree snake or carpet python, why bother it?
If bitten, you’d do better with a shot of antivenin.
One of the reasons I live up in the hills is being close to nice scenery like this, not a soul around either.
Also, Happy New Year all!
That’s awesome!!!
Although it will be manky in a week.
