After 12 years of construction the tunnel in my city is done and the trams are now underground for about 1 mile in the city center oO…
Construction all across the city for over a decade made bicycling very popular because the construction was like the Magic Labyrinth boardgame: today here, tomorrow there…

Ah well, there is still construction all over the place, but that will finish in a few months I believe.
The good thing is this was a decade where we were already aware that transportation has to change and everytime they rebuilt crossings and streets they added better bike lanes etc.
While not perfect by far (there is always room for improvement), my city has pretty decent bicycling infrastructure now. Just last week I discovered they had lengthened one of the bike roads another few blocks and added large swathes of red paint to 2 particularly irritating crossings where bikes now have right of way 
When I see the amount of bikes parked around the city even on a cold day, that makes me happy and I do not want to imagine seeing all those people go into the city with cars instead.

That’s a pretty good idea, yes. Even if you meet a harmless green tree snake or carpet python, why bother it?

One of the reasons I live up in the hills is being close to nice scenery like this, not a soul around either.
