UK Games Expo 2026, 29-31 May

We were opposite a guy selling a boardgame. He was fully committed - he had the game name tattooed along his arm.

It didn’t look like my cup of tea, but in a lull I had a quick look on BGG to see what it was about. Game wasn’t there, designer wasn’t there.

When we were both quiet I went over and said, “do you know that your game isn’t listed on BGG?” He’d never heard of it!

I know we’re a niche, but managing to design and produce a boardgame without ever coming across BGG seems really bizarre. Fortunately he seemed quite grateful and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was on there today.

Fantastic convention, sorry I didn’t get to go round to people’s stands to say Hi, just too busy all weekend (although I did give myself a lunhcbreak on the Saturday, but then just spent it eating a large pasty).

Did Post Curious have a presence at Expo? I didn’t get the chance to explore properly - just saw that they weren’t for sale on the All Play stand.

Games from their “partners” are sold on the neighbouring stall. It’s still Allplay but not obvious. That’s where I bought the Bitewings stuff. I saw some Postcurious items there too

A small nice thing. I was on my way in to one of the halls when someone came out with a copy of Steampunk Rally Fusion. I said, in passing, “great choice”, and we got to chatting a little. He said that his group liked the original game, and he’d just bought the expansion. And I was able to point him at the recommended deck list on BGG, which makes the combination game much better than playing with every card from both sets.
