Oh, are we on round 3 now?
A bit buried in all the reactions, but round 2 is finished. Must say it goes very smoothly, so that’s great! We have three people who are still unbeaten, Benkyo, Captbnut and Lalunaverde! Two of those will face off against each other this round, so still enough room for the others to cath up
Now for the match-ups of round 3:
@jraven90 vs @COMaestro
@RossM vs qwertysoldier
@lalunaverde vs @chrislear
@Chewy77 vs @DJCT
And the match at the top of the standings is between
This leaves @Whistle_Pig with the bye for this round.
Good luck to all, except Ross of course.
We are indeed. I was suprised too!
Oh gosh, I’m USSR!
After playing the generic opening, I’m happy to say I’m happy with how turn one is going, even if my initial coup in Iran failed.
Spoilers. I lost.
Got dealt defectors CIA and olympic games when at defcon 2.
Other than that I felt I did well against @qwertysoldier and their awful cards.
I don’t think this sentiment really changed after this game.
Sidenote: just to be sure, you know Defectors doesn’t impact the defcon-tracker, right?
Not really, no.
Other error. I thought this round was 6 cards out of 8. It wasn’t
ahh that explains a lot
Btw, technically it is 6 out of 8 cards in the early war (and 7/9 from the mid-war onward), but you have to headline one. So on the action rounds it’s 6 out of 7.
You can also play Olympics for ops rather than the event
And, as we’re done now, I can share my hand on Turn 1. It’s probably the worst possible hand to get hit by a Red Scare/Purge-headline by the USSR.
So does anyone want to guess what @RossM headlined?
I did, dealt with that. Should have UN interventioned CIA or headlined it.
I’m certainly improving.
I’m guessing Middle East scoring
hehe no, that was my headline
Gah
Getting confused as to who was who. Then he headlined Olympics and you won the dice roll from -2?
No, you’re overthinking this way too much. He obviously headlined RS/P, turning my already pretty terrible hand into a truly godawful one.
I had a pretty good opening two turns I think. South east Asia locked off, slowly claiming parts of Asia, Middle East and Africa.
@qwertysoldier may disagree. Always looking for feedback.
I totally have this beat. Though I am still playing my first round, so I will share later. I am US though, and jraven lead with Red Scare/Purge, so it is a similar situation.
Edit: I headlined Nasser. As US! Just to give an idea.
This is a good hand.
Yes, he has Blockade there to cause mayhem at the end of the round…
