I will also say: I think something this topic has told me and I guess its ilk (limited games lists - desert island, keep five games only etc). Always kind of miss what I like about boardgames which is the striving for innovation and something new.

I am absolutely terrible for being locked into a thing (videogame, movie, book, album) and feel like when I get a fill I really drop that thing like a stone.

Sometimes I wonder if I was to have an X list of games I’d play forever would I consider saving them even if they were the last copies on earth? I don’t think so. Even games I profess to love (Azul, ticket to ride) I rarely play them nowadays. I kind of love these things in a way that is similar to loving going to Alton towers when I was a child. That kind of crystal moment is what I dig rather than Alton towers itself.

I have tried doing this limited lists and often struggle as the games I really want to keep and keep playing tends to be larger than 30

How can one call this a playlist collection when repeatedly playing 20 games seems like a challenge

Well, they are all different questions. Desert Island / Nuclear Bunker kind of assumes that you are locked in forever. I wouldn’t intend that for here. If it’s any consolation, one could theoretically swap out half of these for a new half in a year. Theoretically.

So far I’ve only tried the base game once and would like a few more base game plays before diving into the campaign

I reckon that would keep me/us well entertained for a very long time.
