Card 3: Klingon (@Lordof1)
(I think the deal you and RossM worked out doesn’t require me to keep track of anything? Let me know if I’m wrong.)
Other than the 3-3 trade agreement which I’ll now put into effect, we know what our arrangements are otherwise, thank you.
Build phase:
- 1 research onto Combat Transporters. Just working on the ‘not arriving inside-out’ bit at the moment.
- Use Miiltarized Industry to produce a ship at Kronos
- Build 3 more ships at Kronos and form all 4 ships into a fleet (a “normal” fleet, not the mauraders)
Command phase:
C1 - Poke the Paulson nebula with our Imperial Nebula Probes and definitely don’t explode
C2&3 - Going to attempt a risky exploration from Deneb V Eastward and see what happens, I’ll decide what happens next after I know if the exploration fits on the board, although if there’s zero chance of an exploration fitting there let me know and I’ll reconsider
Greetings Klingons and Vulcans of Straleb Medina. The Romulans have come to trade.
@Canadian_Errant Would the Vulcans be interested in receiving a 2 production trade agreement in exchange for your 1 research trade agreement?
@Lordof1 Since trading with the Federation requires that you have ships or nodes in either an adjacent sector or the same sector [rule 13.1.1], which you do not appear to have, could I convince you to send your 3 production trade agreement my way instead? You would receive my 3 production trade agreement in exchange, and I’ve saved you the trouble of having to go out of your way to speak to the humans!
Greetings, Romulan. Your intelligence network seems to have some holes in it. Thank you for your offer, but my trade agreement with the Federation stands for now.
However, we will consider a 1-1 trade agreement to help you upgrade your long-range scanners.
@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
I’m taking your fleet formation as “fleet 1, blank side”; let me know if that’s wrong.

I am assuming the Research goes to finish Combat Transporters.
Incidentally Federation and Klingon have no adjacent ships/worlds, so you can’t exchange trade right now. If you achieve this later in your turn, fair enough.
Exploring from Deneb: d3+1: 4

Just barely fits.
System: Capella (PPC-3)
Exploration: Where No One Has Gone Before
Three commands remain.
Valakis VI and Kronos are adjacent aren’t they?
They’re connected worlds but not adjacent sectors, and the latter is what you need. So e.g. you could pull your ship from Trill into Valakis, and that would count.
Okay, I’ve re-read the rules, apologies. Adjacent means in the space lane right next to the planet, understood now. No matter!
C4,5 - warp the fleet 1 from Kronos to Valakis, initiate trade
C6 - start research on Orbital Ship Yards

OK, I’ve exchanged 3P for 3P Klingon/Federation.
Greetings Romulans, I accept your proffered trade agreement exchange.
Would the Klingons like the remaining trade agreement in return for whichever of theirs remains?
Build Phase: I build 6 ships at Coridan III
Command Phase:
1&2 put 1 research each towards the two projects.
3&4 the research Halitra explores towards the east. Hopefully it’s not a very long warp track.
5: The ship at Mazar goes to warp (heading towards Earth, where it will emerge next turn)
If the research Halitra finds something interesting that they have to brave, then they will brave it

We would like the remaining agreement, yes. It is a logical choice. We have 1 resource to offer.

The Research assignment happens in your Build phase, so doesn’t consume any commands.
- C1-C2 exploration:
Space lane: d3+1: 4
System: Mutara Nebula (H5 Phenomenon-4) (Ships here may not use their Shields.)
- ship #1 destroyed on double 1-4:
pool 2d6: 1, 4 - ship #2 destroyed on double 1-4:
pool 2d6: 1, 3 - ship #3 destroyed on double 1-4:
pool 2d6: 1, 5
Shouldn’t that be destroyed on a double 5-6?
