I don’t wish to destroy the alliance I have long had with the Ferengi over 1 ship. I wish to attack the Federation only.

OK, @RossM I need to know whether you wish your ship to join the defence.

I’ll want to see how things go after the first round of combat before I make a decision about whether to continue combat- I’ll be at work tomorrow with no laptop so Roger I’ll DM you when decisions need to be made if that’s alright

One more Cardassian ship lost, leaving twelve. You can rearrange them between fleets after the tactical move; currently 9 + 3.

I would like to tactically move into Valakis and form each fleet with 6 each. Does any of that exhaust a command? Leaving me 3 commands?

You can tac-move and rearrange fleets without using any further commands. So you’ve used 1-4 to get the fleets in place, 5 for the space battle, leaving two more.
