Star Trek Ascendancy game 1

Hegemony please!

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
C5 Hegemony on Hupyria.

  • spend one culture
  • active: Ascendancy 5 + Universal Translator 1 + roll = d6+6: 8
  • resisting: Ascendancy 3 + 4 structures = 7

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
(should have said, Tactical Manoeuvre into system first - then face the orbital mines!)
pool 5d6: 1, 3, 3× 5

Hupyria raises the Federation flag, for the cost of one more Culture. One command left.

I actually think I resisted because of Continuing Committee (gives me another +1)

Correct. So Hupyria is Romulan for now, with fleet 2 sitting there. Final command #6 could go to another Hegemony attempt, since Fed has 2 culture left.

Yeah! Let’s do it!

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
d6+6: 10 to beat 8

That’s done it!

@Marx to play.

I am at work… but gosh I want to get this done… but it’s gonna have to wait until work is done tonight.

Sorry folks!

Okay, I am home. Let’s DO THIS!

(Bah, buh-bah-bah! Buh bah BUH BAH Buh bah bum doo bah da do DAH!)

Build Phase

  • Dissolve Fleet 1
  • 10 Production to build 10 Ships on Earth. Reform Fleet 1 there with 9 ships, and use the 10th ship to slot into Fleet 3.
  • 1 Research to finish “Tal Shiar Listening Posts” (gain 1 Culture)
  • 5 Culture for Ascendancy 4
  • 3 Production to build 3 ships on Romulus, because why not.

Command Phase

  • Command 1: Fleet 1 enters Warp
  • Command 2: Fleet 2 enters Warp
  • Command 3: Fleet 3 enters Warp
  • Command 4: Fleet 1 attempts to travel Earth → Black Hole → Warp Lane (hopefully 2 or 3) → McAllister Nebula → Terra Nova → Rura Pente → Kronos. This hinges on that stupid Warp Lane roll being either a 2 or a 3 length… (sigh)
    – Warp Lane Length [1d3+1]

@Marx asked for a die roll:
Of course I flub the post. sigh

– Warp Lane Length: d3+1: 3

@Marx asked for a die roll:
Booyah. We’re in business.

  • Command 5: Fleet 2 Warps to knock on Krono’s door
  • Command 6: Fleet 3 Warps to politely request trial by Disruptor.
  • Command 7: WAR

Okay. Let’s get THIS right, at least.

Romulans: 27 ships. Weapons are 4+, Shields are 1, Shield Harmonics lets me ignore 1 hit, and I can reroll 1 shot per round, plus Cloaking Device gives me First Strike

Klingons: 22 ships. Weapons are 3+, Shields are 1. 6 rerolls of 1s (which will be pooled seperately.

First Strike
Romulans: Hitting on 5+ pool 27d6: 4× 1, 7× 2, 2× 3, 7× 4, 4× 5, 3× 6

@Marx asked for a die roll:
One reroll: d6: 1

@Marx asked for a die roll:

That’s 7 hits to the Klingon fleet.

I’m going to assume @Roger won’t take the hits to the fleet that can reroll. So there will be 15 shots coming back, hitting on 4+, with 6 of them rerolling 1s:

Klingon “regular” shots: pool 9d6: 1, 2, 2× 3, 2× 4, 3× 6
Klingon “reroll” shots: pool 6d6: 3× 4, 2× 5, 6

11 hits. 10 get through (ouch!).

@RogerBW lemme know if you want to do your own rolls (perfectly reasonable!), in which case feel free to roll your own 15 shots and we’ll go from there!

I have you starting with 12 production, so that would be 2 ships at Romulus.

Given time zone differences I’m quite happy for you to roll for me.

I think you didn’t account for the starbase though, so that’s another regular shot.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Round one starbase shot: pool 1d6: 5

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
So round 1 has 11 hits total to the Romulans.

Round 2.

Romulans pool 16d6: 5× 1, 3× 2, 4× 3, 4, 5, 2× 6 for 5+, reroll a 1
Klingons fleet 2: pool 6d6: 1, 2× 2, 2× 3, 5 for 4+, reroll all 1s
Other Klingons: pool 9d6: 1, 2, 3, 4, 3× 5, 2× 6 for 4+
and Romulans ignore one casualty.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
And the starbase dash it all. pool 1d6: 1 for 4+.
