The Conquistador name is arguable, as Fuerteventura was taken in the early 1400s, by a force commanded by Norman mercenaries (Jean de Bethencourt and Gadifer De la Salle) with Castillian support, so well…
Looking at the rules I found a bit of a cock up.
Life as a native - Each tribe will start the game mastering two crafts (Fishing, pig farming, shepherding or agriculture)
Pig farming??? In Fuerteventura?? Wow. Pre-Hispanic people of the Canaries only farmed goats… Hum, hum.
Other than that, I don’t know if it is only relating to Fuerteventura, or more of the other four islands conquered by Bethencourt, but Fuerteventura had only two kingdoms, Maxorata and Jandia, so that could be an issue with the number of factions.
All in all, nice to see them using the conquest of the islands for a theme. If only for that, they have my attention.
