I played a huge amount of Deep Rock Galactic and it is an amazing coop shooter game. Funny, a lot of variety, great ideas and gameplay, just a ton of fun!
So highly recommended by me.
It is true that you need a bit to get adjusted to the game and its map because it is a very vertical game which leads to getting lost in the beginning. I was always scared in the beginning when I was running back to the drop ship that I would get lost and die lonely 
After a while you have the experience to understand how the map works. Also something which is easily forgotten and helped me a lot as soon as I found out about it: The space button aligns the map to you, which is a big help to know which way you look and have to go.
