Florida’s Hot Spot for the Crocodile’s Comeback Is…a Nuclear Power Plant?
There is no way this can go horribly wrong.
The birds of Chernobyl have apparently done surprisingly well, in spite of feather deformities.
Radiation is really not anything like as mutagenic as commonly worried about. High doses will kill you quickly for sure. Low doses increase cellular mutations -a bit-. I think a lot of the fear of radiation is largely psychological. Shows like Chernobyl that greatly increase the number of people affected by radiation don’t help (all the firefighters died; no one watching the fire from a distance did, despite the show strongly implying this).
It always seemed odd to me comparing the amount of regulations we had around the x-Ray machine in the practice, and a heck of a lot less paperwork, inspections and regulations for drugs that would instantly kill someone up in the dispensary.
