[PbP] Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

(Two things to note. Ranged weapons are not typically part of the typical Watchman’s equipment, so there are none to be found at the Watch House. Bows are expensive, with the cheapest option being a short bow, which costs 3 GP. You can pick up a sling really easily with a dozen lead bullets for 1 shilling 4d, or 1s 2d for a dozen stone bullets.)

(There’s a road from Unterturm to Sigmartempel that crosses the canal, and then goes via Karstadt to Ruhmpunkt. That’s as close as you can get via marked roads on the maps of the area.)

I’d like each player to propose a skill test associated with your trip to see you’ve managed to help your journey along. Maybe you’ve charmed someone into hitching a ride, or navigated a short cut. Depending on what you do, and how successful you are, there maybe subsequent consequences.

(I can’t imagine any self respecting elf using such a primitive weapon as a sling, so I’ll save up for a bow please. Can you make a note of the money as I don’t have any record sorry Scribbs!)

Amris is used to ocean navigation but will attempt to navigate via land, most likely once we off-road from Ruhmpunkt.

Let’s have a navigation test from Amris then please.

(I’ll narrate the outcomes once we’ve got a sense what everyone is doing).

Trying to think of a way to justify either Consume Alcohol, Brawl or Intimidate!

I think a ram tried to charge us across a broken fence in a not very traveled path, and Meinrad got in the way to try and tame the beast (and in doing so maybe helped the very scarred and young shepperd boy who had to watch it, and who gave us direction afterward?)

(I’m sure you can think of something - perhaps giving some passing peasants driving a wagon a hard stare to convince them to give you a lift?)

(@Sagantine Any thoughts on how Fronika wants to contribute?)

(If this is after we get off the boat), Else will loom over some people heading our way, demanding a lift as they are on Sigmar’s work, if they know what she means…

(If you’re talking before we get off the boat but if there is a stop in the evening to tie up the boat) Else will get drunk with some people in a tavern and try and get better directions, sense of the road etc.

(Your choice - it can be either onboard, or once you’re on the road)

@Griffster77 asked for a die roll:
Intimidate is probably more thematic!

Else stops a wagoner along the road and after asking where he is going, demands that he give the party a lift, 'or I will have to look more closely whether those boils on your neck are natural or from exposure to the Dark Gods…"

[rolld100] vs Intimidate 45

“What are we doing in Bretonnia?”

(Well, that was an… interesting set of results)

Firstly, Else gives the poor peasant on the road to Sigmartempel a hard stare, and he stammers in fear; he’s shaking so badly, he can’t get any words out. He knows exactly what Else is, and doesn’t dare argue. You bundle into the back of his cart amid the hay bales, and bump along the road, passing through Sigmartempel and by the town of Karstadt. The cart continues on, and eventually you see another village on the road. But it’s by some woodland. On arrival there, you quickly find that you’ve been taken to Ranzig instead of Ruhmpunkt. The peasant was so scared he didn’t dare tell Else he wasn’t going in the right direction, and he is almost passing out in terror. A few of the locals make it clear that you are not welcome, and you hasten away.

Amris believes he can put you back on track; after all, if he remembers correctly, you should just need to follow the line of the forest north west to reach Fahrenbeck. That takes a little more time, as the forest edge goes north a way first, but at least you are heading in the right direction.

Fronika pauses to check the route with shepherd, who is completely unimpressed by four strangers coming tramping over his grazing land. He suggests a less than helpful detour over some hard ground, which also passes by a broken fence where Meinrad is chased by an agitated ram.

The net result is that although you will arrive at Fahrenbeck, you will all be suffering from Fatigue the next day. It is dark when you finally reach the village, footsore and exhausted. Most houses are closed up for the night, with the only light shining from within the inn.

“I’m absolutly exhausted. If you all don’t mind, any investigating we have to do will wait until tomorrow.”
Meinrad will go toward the inn to ask for a room for the night, and a hot meal. Ideally something with ram meat inside.
