This is a longshot, but are there any Japanese readers on here?
My mum has a vase from about 1975 which has what is maybe Japanese on it? (At least, the second symbol down in the left column looks like the kanji for “Heaven”, apologies if it’s very clearly a different language.)
There is EVERY possibility this just says “Made in 1975 for gullible tourists”, or is total nonsense put together to look nice, but can anyone read it?

Mum will be delighted, she’s had it since before I was born and just wanted to know anything at all about it 
Edit: Blimey. A similar one online says that Yi Cheng Xuan was an early-20thC Chinese studio, and a similar vase the same straight shape goes for nearly £300! She was going to assume it was worth £2 and give it to the charity shop!

I don’t have many specialities to bring to this board’s new Antiques Roadshow category, but in “small world” news @WolfeRJ mentioned the Sekhmet and Bastet book in a post above, and the publisher is an old friend of mine who I could be seeing over New Year’s! So I’ll put myself forward as a knowledge source for the kind of esoteric stuff they cover if that ever comes up.

In a desperate attempt to raise the tone a little… As a former bellringer, I have rung in the new year in the traditional sense a number of times. Hopefully not to the annoyance of too many of the locals. In case anyone was wondering, drinking happens after the ringing, unless you want to risk accidentally breaking an arm/finger/neck…
