OK, here’s the initial setup. (Note that I am using the Fire and Event Decks from the _Tragic Events_ expansion, which replace Hot Spots.) The explosion markers have no game effect; that’s just to show you how it started. ![image](https://discussion.tekeli.li/uploads/default/original/3X/8/e/8eaacef57d53e88bc3d0a7fe0261db0f48e5a270.jpeg) Randomised play order: - @COMaestro - Blue - @RossM - Red - @DJCT - Green - @Kat - Yellow - @RogerBW - White - @Lordof1 - Orange Things we have to decide jointly: - which specialist role does each of us take - where do we start - where do the fire engine and ambulance start - who plays first Specialists (basic game ones are in bold and are generally easier to play): - **CAFS Firefighter** (slow, good at firefighting) - **Driver/Operator** (better with the fire engine’s deck gun) - **Fire Captain** (can give actions to other firefighters) - Fire Prevention Specialist (has set up escape routes etc. before the game startee) - **Generalist** (no special powers, just an extra action) - **Hazmat Technician** (can make the explosive materials safe on site rather than dragging them out) - **Imaging Technician** (can tell whether a ? marker is a real victim or a false alarm) - **Paramedic** (can treat victims making it easier to get them out) - Rescue Dog (can squeeze through damaged walls and drag out victims) - **Rescue Specialist** (can move faster and chop through walls more efficiently) - Strategist (can give other firefighters saved actions) - Structural Engineer (can repair partly-damaged walls) - Suppression Specialist (can alter where the random fire advance lands) - Veteran (can dodge incoming fire and gives those near them bonus actions) I will be happy to give advice but I do think that this game, having no hidden information, is vulnerable to an experienced player dominating the play. So I’ll try to err on the side of saying less unless asked. ---

Note that I will always give coordinates as (red d6, black d8). For the ambulance, I suggest the bottom space (7, 3-4) since that’s close to two PoIs. I have never played, or seen played, the Fire Prevention Officer so I’d like to give him a try. ---

Does the game change in terms of explosions/structural damage with the expansion rules. Buildings collapsing always seems to be a worry for me in this game. And if still an issue, structural engineer for me ---
