T&T has periodic revivals and new little solos occasionally pop up, I played an online game on rpol.net for a bit so it’s sort of alive.
Runequest - they’re going to create a more streamlined edition, and I saw Michael at Gloranthan Games in Birmingham the other day - it wasn’t all middle-aged Glorantha nerds, there were some young ‘uns too, so Glorantha is definitely alive-alive-o.
Re: Traveller and jumping into deep space - I assumed it was possible as a method of exploration. The actual definitive answer is given in GURPS Interstellar Wars, a sourcebook for playing the Solomani/Vilani wars of the Trav background (and the Imperium boardgame). The Vilani did not know how to jump into deepspace, but the Solomani worked out how to do it and it’s just slightly more difficult. This explains the boardgame (you attack from system to system, because at that point no-one knew how to do deep space jumps, so you are constrained to the game map) in game-world terms, while also explaining how you can do exploration of space rifts in later Traveller (it’s just a little more difficult).
I appear to have out-nerded Roger on a topic involving a GURPS book. Is reality still OK?
